UA Holodeck: Human-Centered Computing and Design Thinking

UArizona Holodeck

Goals

The UArizona Holodeck’s Experiential Supercomputing facility is an immersive, collaborative, virtual/physical research environment accelerating convergence science and innovation at the UArizona. It will empower an exceptionally broad range of research activities in laboratories and “in the wild,” including telehealth, simulation, smart homes, assistive technologies, and serious games for health. The instrument will enable complex system exploration and visualization, including coupling health data and simulation with climate and environmental sciences and engineering. It will facilitate design thinking and engineering research with multi-stakeholder activities, including, Health Science Design, humanitarian engineering, and wicked problem-solving. Collectively these will advance the UArizona’s mission and capacity to tackle society’s grand challenges.
