Team Leads selected as awardees of the UA's Big Idea Challenge

From Early Earth to Mars: Advancing an Integrated 'Landscape Terraformation Science' of How Life Transforms Planets with a Multi-scale Collaboratory Digital Twinning of Biosphere 2:
Scott Saleska (Department Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) - Current LEO Team Lead, Cristian Roman Palacios (College of Information Sciences) - Current Historical Biogeography Team Lead, and Ken McAllister (College of Humanities) - Current Executive Committee member were selected as awardees of the UA's Big Idea Challenge! The challenge, administered by the Office of Research and Partnerships, received 72 proposals from 19 units across the university. The teams focused on six areas: data, information systems, artificial intelligence, defense, energy, health, biomedical sciences, human experience, and space sciences.
Six teams of University of Arizona experts were chosen as the 2025 Big Idea Challenge awardees for their proposals to accelerate transdisciplinary projects that could transform lives, shape policy, drive economic impact, and provide training for the next generation of talent.
