VIP Team Leads Make Waves as Fullbright Scholars

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. State Department's flagship cultural exchange program that supports U.S. scholars conducting research or teaching abroad for up to a year. The program also welcomes international students and faculty to domestic institutions to foster international cooperation and academic exchange. 

We are proud to celebrate three Vertically Integrated Projects Team Leaders who have been selected as 2026-2027 Fullbright Scholars! Dr. Chris Impey, Team Lead for VIP Team StellarScape, Dr. Scott Saleska, Team Lead for VIP Team Landscape Evolution Observatory, and Dr. Travis Sawyer, former Team Lead of Optical Imaging have all advanced global research, education, and collaboration, rightfully earning them the title of a Fullbright Scholar. Congratulations Dr. Impey, Dr. Saleska, and Dr. Sawyer!
