NSF I-Corps Program Awards Professor Winslow Burleson and his Team

Professor Winslow Burleson and his team were recognized nationally through the NSF I-Corps program. Their hard work on immersive simulation technology that improves healthcare training is what landed them the Spirit of I-Corps Award! During the seven-week program, they did over 100 interviews. This helped refine ideas and provided a better understanding of what trainers and instructors needed. This definitely highlights how committed they are to shaping their innovation into something that can make a real impact! 

Burleson’s research centers on human-computer interaction, learning sciences and immersive environments. His work on what has come to be known as “the Holodeck project” explores how integrated visual, auditory and physical systems can enhance training, collaboration and decision-making.
